The boys helped with the San Gabriel Valley Watershed Restoration project on Saturday. We helped plant tree starts to be planted up at Crystal Lake. The boys all did such a great job. We learned that only 1 out of every 10 tree start will grow into a mature tree. So we needed to do a good job and plant carefully.

After all our hard work we drove another mile up the canyon to do some fishing in the West Fork of the San Gabriel River. The boys were so excited to catch a fish, but none of us had any luck.

Everyone left to go home at about noon, except for Shane, he could not be skunked. He hiked up the river a little farther with Jared and Jessica. He ended up catching 5 fish. This was his prize catch.
